Like the other reviews say, use the weight of the shaver no pressure.just heat your face up with a hot wet towel and get some nice lather going with the brush and let it slide down your neck and face.Just let it roll...nice and easy.Dont rush or you will cut yourself. just take your time and do a good job and you wont have to shave again for 2 days. I have facial hair that is tougher to trim than steel wool.This thing is like a hot knife through butter.Paired with a 100% Silvertip Badger Bristle Shaving Brush here:

Dont go for kits just because it comes with a brush and a stand..Most kits pair a popular razor with a mediocre brush and a stand that costs a dollar to make.
go the extra mile and get them separately and they will last for years.

my kit is a drop in the bucket compared to years of money on stupid mach 3's cartridges?I've been using mach 3 since it came out in 1998.Thats 12 years ago!
Do the math.average 12 pack of mach 3's23.00 x 1 year about 6 12 packs a year for me = 138 x 12 years = $1656I think you get the idea.

(More customer reviews)I have to say that I do NOT own this model, but I own a model similar to this one, so similar I consider both the same. My model looks like this one, but it is gray. only DIFFERENCE.

The first thing I should say is that you can get as close as you want. Closer than a blade, because with a blade if you add pressure, you get nicks and cutes.

Do you want to get so close that your skin will feel extremely raw? Do you want to get even further beyond where you start bleeding? Even further beyond, I've gotten so close that I've taken out my epidermis, my skin is raw to the bone and I have no hair, smoother than a babies behind; their legs.

How quick is the shave? Well if you just want a quick shave, this thing will give it to you. I got a good shave in less than a minute. At 14,000 micro-vibrations you can basically get a good shave in a minute. Very fast, very quick, very impressive. The head is huge, so that means you can cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time.

Do you want a comfortable shave? Dang, this thing is very very comfortable.It felt like I was rubbing my face with a cloud. Yes, the blades spin that fast that it feels like you've got some kind of cloudy heat pad on your face. Rubbing it up and down, no irritations, very comfortable. Now if you shave for a while, it will get hot. And, if you shave for a while, your skin will get raw and a little irritated. All depending on how close you want to get. Basically, you want get any irritations if you shave quick; for those with sensitive skin, do not shave for a long period of time. This shaver is very good for sensitive skin.

Does it clean? Yes, put liquid soap on the top, run for a few seconds, and run it under the water. The shaver comes with instructions on how to properly clean. I will also take the top off and rinse off the blades; accidentally hit the blades to the sink while they were on; ouch. It still works though. Then soak the top in alcohol if you want, or set to dry.

It has an LCD screen that tells you how long you have been shaving. And, don't worry about dropping it because it has an incredible grip.

Last comments, don't shave in the shower, you can if you want, but my experience was that the water slowed down the blades and couldn't get a good shave. You can use shaving cream to shave though, the blades won't slow down unless you run it through water which includes the shower. Also, my hair type is fast growing hair, not very rough or tough, but still a bit of a challenge. This blade didn't slow down when cutting my hair.
